Transforming a blank room into a space where people enjoy spending time, are at home, feel well cared for, inspired or just surrounded by beauty, is incessantly fascinating and gratifying to me.

Aesthetics are one part of it - and one that I profoundly enjoy. But liveliness and a certain amount of practicality are always in the mix, too. Fabrics need to be felt, colours explored and furniture must serve or command a room to the point. If the one right table, mirror or screen can’t be found - well, design it and get it manufactured by a craftsman who knows their art. This is what I love most about my profession: seeing and feeling the immediate result of creativity - and having people live, work, eat or just come together in that newly created space.

I started my Interior Design School career at the Blocherer School in Munich, Germany. The rather practical-oriented approach of learning taught me the very foundations of design: Hand drawing, descriptive geometry and the science of color gave me a deep understanding of the basics of this craft.
Later, during my stay at the London Metropolitan University, students were invited to look at design from a social, environmental and economical perspective - making it very clear that this art form can be as purpose- and meaningful as it is beautiful.

Next stop for me was New York. First for a six month internship with renowned architect Michael Gabellini (where I was part of a competition for redesigning the Rockefeller lobby uptown New York and got an idea how to transform visions into reality). Subsequently, I was offered to be part of the Master of Fine Arts Interior Design program at the Parsons School of Design, which had a significant and valuable influence on my work.

Today, I have the privilege to collaborate with people from different walks of life on a variety of projects: Designing restaurants and bars, shops, salons as well as entire apartments for private customers. To me, this is a highly appreciated opportunity to bring my creativity to life and be challenged in ever changing ways. And also a calling I truly enjoy every day.
